Louisburgh Community Futures would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss the setting up of a community WiFi Broadband system to give a fast connection to homes that either don’t have any connection or don’t have a satisfactory connection.
The WiFi system would deliver up to a 5Mb connection to as many homes as physically possible.
To achieve this we will need community involvement as the system works by sending a signal from high point to high point, across the community and then down to the individual houses.
Each connection needs to be “line of sight”. That means that it can’t be obstructed by hills, buildings or trees.
We will need community members to host equipment (provided by LCF) so that we can setup a network to the hard to reach areas. The equipment will be placed on buildings or poles. This equipment will distribute the signal and send it to individual homes.
If you would like to learn more please attend our public meeting at Louisburgh Parochial Hall on March 26th at 8.30 p.m.
